either...or

引申义包括：1）表示非此即彼的选择，如“Either you or I am wrong.”（要么你错了，要么我错了。） 也不……”，如“I don't like either coffee or tea.”（我既不喜欢咖啡也不喜欢茶。） 就……”，如“Either you come now, or we leave.”（要么你现在来，要么我们离开。）。

在日常口语中，语气随意，常省略主语，如“Either come in or go out.”（要么进来，要么出去。）。在学术写作中，用于严谨的逻辑选择，如“The experiment will be conducted either at room temperature or at 37°C.”（实验将在室温或37°C下进行。）。在法律文本中，表示二选一的条款，如“The tenant shall either renew the lease or vacate the premises.”（租户应要么续租，要么搬离。）。在新闻报道中，用于呈现两种可能性，如“The company will either merge or declare bankruptcy.”（公司要么合并，要么宣布破产。）。

另外，either 可单独使用，表示“两者中的任何一个”，如“You can take either book.”（你可以拿任何一本。）。

either...or 与 or 都表示选择，但 either...or 更强调二选一，语气更明确；or 则可能表示不确定或多种选择，如“You can have tea or coffee.”（你可以喝茶或咖啡。）。与 whether...or 相比，whether 引导名词性从句，表示“是否”，而 either...or 不引导从句。

注意不要与 either（也）混淆，如“I don't like it either.”（我也不喜欢。）。
